Calm waters on Lake Champlain
It has stopped raining, things are drying out and we are seeing slivers of blue sky, life on the White Label is good again.
Lake Champlain is a massive body of water.  It is 106 miles long with New York on the west shore and Vermont on the east shore.  The lake starts out quite narrow and widens at Crown Point, the sight of two historic forts and a sailor's memorial lighthouse.
You see it all along the shoreline .......... historic forts, farms, campgrounds, summer cottages, lakeside
Champlain Memorial Lighthouse
estates, tiny villages.  The landscape varies from foothills to prairie in magnificent shades of green.  Water depths are up to 200 ft. with the current water temp. being 41 degrees.  "The Season" does not start up until Memorial Weekend so many of the marinas are stilled closed and boat traffic is minimal.
The shear size of the lake is most impressive............. Clear Lake would literally fit in one of the bays.  I guess there is no such thing as a Friday night "booze cruise" around this lake!
