| Leaving Old City Quebec for Le Chemin Du Roy |
We have not often had the time to travel the back roads ........ today we did and decided to take the historic Le Chemin Du Roy (The King's Way). Completed in 1737 it linked Quebec City and Montreal, carrying travelers and mail by way of carriage, stagecoach, mail coach and sleigh in the winter.

Today, this land-based counterpart of the St. Lawrence River winds through villages and farm land showcasing heritage buildings and scenic river views. It is a true retro driving experience, what the world was like pre-interstate highway. Too bad we were doing it in a Dodge mini-van instead of Charlie's 911 Porsche.
